Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (2–3 Hours Drive)

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your professional driver-guide will warmly welcome you and begin your Rwanda adventure with a guided Kigali city tour.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Adventure

Wake up early for breakfast before transferring to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a pre-trek briefing at 7:00 AM.

During the briefing, park rangers will explain gorilla trekking rules, safety guidelines, and what to expect during the hike.

The Trekking Experience

At approximately 8:00 AM, begin your guided hike into the rainforest. Trekking time varies between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Volcanoes National Park is home to over a dozen habituated gorilla groups. You will be assigned a group based on fitness level and availability.

Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural environment. Seeing these gentle giants up close—who share approximately 98% of human DNA—is a powerful and emotional wildlife experience.

Visitors are required to:

  • Maintain a safe distance
  • Follow ranger instructions
  • Avoid flash photography
  • Remain calm and quiet

After your trek, return to the lodge for lunch before transferring back to Kigali for your departure flight or hotel drop-off.
